I’ll be presenting at the Media Sociology Pre-Conference in Oakland in a week or so. The talk is called “Fear, Empathy, and Government Intervention: Television News Coverage of September 11th and the 2008 Financial Crisis.”

I’ll also have one day to hang around the actual ASAs in San Fran after that, then heading home and back to teaching my summer class.
